Test your Textures!

What You Will Need:

  • Paper and pencil

How to Play:

  1. Go outside and look for two or three objects or surfaces with different textures (for example: a tree, a brick, and a sidewalk each have different textures)
  • Take your paper and place it on top of the object or surface
  • Using your pencil, colour on the paper covering the object until you can see the texture of the object or surface on the paper.  Do this for each object
  • Now bring your paper inside and find two more objects or surfaces and do the same thing.
  • Then use your descriptive words to describe how each object felt.  What was its texture? (smooth, rough, soft?)  Write down the words on your drawings.
